Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/4 cup whiskey
- 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 slices Dubliner cheese
- 4 burger buns
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- Lettuce leaves
- Tomato slices
- Pickles optional
- Cooking oil
Instructions:
Put some cooking oil in a pan and heat it over medium-high heat
Put in the chopped onions and cook them until they turn clear
Slice the mushrooms and mince the garlic and add them to the pan
Make sure the mushrooms are soft and browned
Add the whiskey and let it cook for a few minutes until it gets thinner and less watery
Add pepper and salt to taste
Take it off the heat and set it aside
Set your grill or griddle on the stove to medium-high heat to get it ready
Form the ground beef into four burger patties while the grill heats up
Add salt and pepper to both sides
Put the burger patties on the grill and cook them until theyre done the way you like them
Add a slice of Dubliner cheese to each patty and let it melt in the last minute of cooking
Grill the burger buns until they are just barely golden while the burgers are cooking
Put the Dijon mustard and mayonnaise in a small bowl and mix them together to make a sauce
Spread the mayo-mustard sauce on the bottom half of each toasted bun before putting the burgers together
Put a lettuce leaf on top of the sauce, then a burger patty with cheese that has melted on top of that
Put the whiskey mushroom mix on top of the burger patty
If you want, add a tomato slice and some pickles
Put the other half of the toasted bun on top
Let your Whiskey Mushroom and Dubliner Cheese Burger cool down a bit before you eat it
